ONS: The Oncology Nursing Society is a National organization of 25,000 registered nurses dedicated to excellence in patient care, teaching, research, and community education in the field of Oncology. The Phoenix Chapter (PONS) was chartered by the ONS as an afiliate in 1982. Its goal is to uphold the mission statement of the national ONS at the local level through educational opportunities and nurse to nurse networking.
Membership: RN's engaged in or interested in oncology nursing are eligible for membership. Others in allied health fields are eligible for associate membership (non-voting status). Membership in the national organization (ONS) is required for active membership in the chapter (PONS).
Programs: Educational programs are offered every 2ND Thursday of each month with additional programs several times per year. Every member and associate member may attend free of charge. Others may attend at a charge of $20.00 each. Students may attend as our guest the first time. Planned programs are based on an annual membership Needs Assessment.
ONS Mission Statement: The mission of the Oncology Nursing Society is to promote excellence in oncology nursing and quality cancer care.
